Hey guys, remember that whole 2-step authentication thing? It still exists. Now would be a good time to use it until this whole thing with 4chan blows over. They are planning on hacking accounts next, and they have already started. Use this! Change your password for security first, especially if you have already had it for a while. Then, go down to Two-factor authentication. Click the slider, enter your phone number and password. Tumblr will text you a code, enter that. Then, log out, and try it yourself. You will need a mobile phone for this. Each code expires after 2 minutes if you do not enter it. Just refresh, and get another. This is just about the safest thing we can do to defend ourselves against this.
Also: Save your HTML!!! If your account is compromised, you probably do not want to have to rebuild your theme from scratch, so save it in word or notepad.

SIGNAL BOOST. IF ANYONE CAN BRAVE THE TAGS, YOU CAN NOW CLICK THE VIOLATING TUMBLR GUIDELINES.

4CHAN IS PLANNING ON HACKING ACCOUNTS.

If you see this somewhere on my blog, this means I am NOT a 4Channer.

If I start posting gore and porn, THAT IS NOT ME. I HAVE BEEN HACKED.

If you want to reblog this, take a screenshot of it on your blog so that you have solid proof.

Hey guys it looks like the trolls down at 4chan want to keep it up with their attacks on tumblr, this time they are going to be doing individual attacks on the people cleaning up the tags. So if anything just a heads up, they are trying to come up with new ways to attack as we speak.

your-secret-senpai:

Just a reminder here; they are grabbing IP adresses. This means they can find out where you live, or easily bypass any security on your computer or device and hack you.
Please, be safe. Pass this on so others know they may intend to do something with the IPs and be careful, if you think you’re being too careful, you’re not.
It’s not too far off to say your best safety measure is even to even leave tumblr/go on hiatus until this is done with.
(Blacked out most of the IP for security reasons.)
